Well, where do I start on this Custom Bass Guitar Blog thing? First I would like to say that I do NOT play the Bass Guitar, nor do I think that I am some kind of expert. Quite the contrary! I just love Custom Bass Guitars !
I used to play the 6 string Guitar (electric and acoustic) when I was younger and was once quite good as I recall, and one of these days I will buy myself (or more likely have a custom one built) another bitchin axe and pick up where I left off. What was it that John Cougar (Mellencamp) used to say… “Learn How To Play Guitar” to get the chicks! Lord knows we all can use a little more of that! Well at least I could use a little more of that!
No, the reason I started this Blog was because I happen to have an art studio ( Abstract Painter who uses Automotive Paints while drinking lots of Beer and playing very loud music, click on www.bybcworld.com if you want to check out my stuff) directly across the hall from the studio/project room/world headquarters of one of the universes best and well known Custom Bass Guitar builders who is none other than the one and only Jimmy Wilson owner and operator of Landing Bass Guitars , see the Blue Beauty below.
Getting to know James and watching him work on his pieces of sculpture that happen to play music (he just says they are Bass Guitars) has given me a whole new look at this instrument!
Not only that, it has turned into more with my painting Custom Bass Guitar bodies for some of his tribe.

So to end this first posting I would just like to say that over time I plan on having Jimmy and as many builders as we can get, to write some really good articles and use their expertise to help get the word out about what you need to know when your looking to buy, build, paint, string, whatever we decide to throw up here. And we’ll probably do some blatant promotion and bribing as well!
So please feel free to leave a comment about anything you wish, or how to make this little CustomBass Guitar Blog thing better!
Peace! BC
UPDATE!! 5/7/09 Sorry everyone for having disapeared for so long! I had quite a few other projects going on but we are back now and will be posting some new stuff again. We have a new video of Jimmy Wilson installing some Dark Star pick-ups in a Fender Jazz Bass that we need to post so check back again soon. Also let me know what you think about the new site look? I thought a change would be good!

It says Ibanez Roadster Series on the headstock. It’s got a single pickup. It weighs a ton. That much I know…but can you tell me anything more about this bass guitar?

Here’s a gently used Ibanez Bass & Amp “package” for you to check out. I’m throwing in a new Korg GA-30 tuner and a nice cloth wrapped cable. I seriously overplayed and made lots of mistakes and didn’t even think I would keep this “take” as you can tell by my tone of voice in the “thanks for watching” at the end, but it worked and every feature was shown and that’s the purpose here…not how well I can play…so I’ll let it go and let the mistakes show. There are no effects…I’m plugged straight into the amp and there was no editing done afterwards. What you see is what you get. If I forgot anything, just ask…
I started playing bass on August 28th 2007. I taught myself how to play bass. Here I am jammin to a quick track that I laid on my Roland XP-50. If you don’t like it, I Don’t Care! LOL!! Just kidding… N-Joy..
This is a demo of the Freaker wah with a bass guitar. There are 6 different settings along with a quack knob.

this is the “Fender Stop Dreaming Start Playing Affinity Jazz Bass Pack With Fender Rumble 15 Amp ” package i bought at guitar center, i would say its a really good pack for begginers, maybe a so-so for pro’s, it is a great package with and overall good price, the link for it at guitar center will be below, theres the fender affinity normal (mostly for rock or metal types of songs) and there the jazz affinity (for jazz songs and metal/rock songs) i would recommend the jazz affinity cus its and awsome package.
